About me

I am based in Leiden, Netherlands. Until 2022 I was a Professor of Astrophysics at Trinity College Dublin, the University of Dublin. I had previous posts as Senior Researcher at the University of Geneva (Switzerland) under an Ambizione award, and at the Max Planck Institute (Germany).

I obtained my PhD at the age of 25 at the University of Sao Paulo (Brazil) that included a one-year research scholarship at the University of Pittsburgh (USA).

Astrophysics

During my career I developed original research projects involving massive stars, supernovae and black holes. I am an expert in Computational Astrophysics.

I published 170+ scientific papers and gave 40+ keynote talks at international conferences and universities around the planet. Curious to know what we discovered about stars, supernovae and black holes?
